Sedation Dentistry Puts You at Ease

Have you had an unpleasant experience at a dentist’s office? Do you have concerns about sharp dental instruments? Whatever the case, dental anxiety is a common condition. It’s also potentially a very problematic one. If you have minor, treatable dental health issues and you don’t seek treatment, you can end up far worse off. At Georgetown Dental Center we can help you overcome your fears and reclaim your dental health. We’re your home for comfortable care through sedation dentistry in Indianapolis, IN.

For our patients who suffer extreme dental anxiety or who need a procedure like dental implants, we offer oral sedation to help relieve your distress. In the case of procedures like extractions or filling cavities, we offer nitrous oxide for anesthesia. Talk to us about your situation and we can help you with whatever you need to make you feel relaxed and at ease.

Our Sedation Options

Oral Sedation
Oral sedation can be a convenient and powerful anesthetic. Swallow a prescribed capsule before your procedure, and you won’t feel anxious or fearful during your visit. You’ll remain conscious but completely relaxed.
1
Nitrous Oxide
Known to many people as “laughing gas,” nitrous oxide is another highly effective sedation method that we use with some procedures. Administered via a mask as a gas, nitrous oxide probably won’t make you laugh, however, it will keep you alert and relaxed while you’re being treated. Its effects fade quickly after you take your mask off. You’ll be able to drive yourself home afterward without delay.
2
Local Anesthesia
We apply local anesthetic through a syringe or as a topical solution to numb only the area of your mouth that we’re treating. Local anesthesia won’t affect your consciousness.
